It will always make sense if you don't think about it too much.
I've been writing, recording and performing music for longer than I care to admit. Let's just say 20-25 years... give or take... as the crow flies. In the studio I do about everything except drums. I'm not 'great' at anything, just 'pretty good' at a lot of different things. I currently front 7 different line ups and outfits of various shapes and sizes and that keeps me playing pretty much year around. I can scale it down for budget-gigs and I can expand it out for the 'Big Show'. Current Acts: 1. SOLO- Louie McNeal (Acoustic Guitar and Vocal) 2. DUO 1- Fitzpatrick/ McNeal (2 Acoustic Guitars and 2 Vocals) 3. DUO 2 - Mc2 (Acoustic Guitar, Bass and 2 Vocals) 4. TRIO 1. - Acousticats (2 Acoustic Guitars, Upright Bass and 3 Vocals) 5. TRIO 2. - Hard Edits (Electric Guitar, Bass, Drums and 3 vocals 6. TRIO 3. - LTC (2 Acoustic Guitars, Percussion and 3 vocals) 7. QUARTET- Long Time Coming (Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Drums and 4 Vocals) [Though the majority of these bands and acts primarily focus on genre specific cover material, they are all capable of performing our impressive catalog of original compositions, when the opportunity presents itself.] I have recorded and produced 9 of my own albums (most available here on this site) and I have produced countless other acts and performers throughout my region. I love collaborating on songwriting. Some of my more accessible and popular tracks are ones where I worked with a collaborator. Music is my life. I sacrificed a LOT to be able to do it on my own terms and be happy about it. There are easier ways to go, but I prefer the more challenging aspects of writing, recording and performing my music. I really like the phrase, "A calm and easy ocean will make a lousy sailor out of you." Don't know who said it, but I seem to live by it.

Story behind the song
One of my top 5 songs. There's a lot of autobiographical elements infused in the lyrics (this is true of most of my better songs). It's about someone hitting that defining moment in their life where they question their previously unquestionable and 'pure' motivations for their path in life. It' focuses upon how getting what you ask for can turn out to be self-manipulation and confirmation bias.
Lyrics
I've got a hole in my pocket; I got a hole in my shoe. On the whole- I can't knock it; Ain't got a whole lot to do. And what's left for me to write, can't be said in black and white. But I've got to get out of this race. And I'm left with little doubt, that my journey and my route Can be traced by the lines on my face. Chorus: I'm such a long long way from a place called 'Anywhere." It's been a long hard day, and you know I don't really care. Caught between a very bad dream, and a very good nightmare. And I don't mind crawlin' if I know its gonna get me there. I've been following the white lines; I've been fucking with the radio. I've been reading all the road signs; should've been home a week ago. And the road I leave behind, for somebody else to find. It's a path that I would like to forget. Behind every twist and turn, lurked a hard lesson learned. A side of myself that I'd never met. (Chorus) (Lead break) (Chorus)
